Country Fire Authority Victoria - Parade

The Country Fire Authority received a Thank You parade through the streets of Melbourne on 16 January 2002. I traveled to Melbourne from Sydney to cover the parade and end my unofficial hunt for CFA tankers during this period. All photos from the parade taken at the corner of Bourke and Swanston Streets unless stated. More photos will appear in the new CFA section soon.

The start of the parade. A Victoria Police station wagon leads the first tankers in the parade.

Tanker labeled as being allocated to Werribee CFA. It is planned that this vehicle will be allocated to the new Point Cook CFA Brigade. Under close inspection later, Point Cook decals can be seen under the Werribee decals.

Somehow an NSW Rural Fire Service flag found itself to be in the parade. Various CFA members pass the Nike Store. Are they marching in protest for a discount at the store like Police had taken away from them? (Of course not!)
Somehow a bike courier got onto the parade route and passed me just as Lillydale's Tanker did, which has unusual blue striping added.

Diamond Creek Tanker. This tanker has an advertisement for a CFA competition later this year.
